Sanjeev Sharma - Senior Advocate
Sanjeev Sharma, started his career in 1985 as an Indian Army, Judge Advocate General Officer.
Leaving on Pre-mature release in the rank of a Major he went into private practice in 1991.
He remained Additional Advocate General for the State of Punjab, and is a designated Senior Advocate.
His Excellency The Governor of Punjab and Administrator Union Territory Chandigarh appointed him The Senior Standing Counsel for Union Territory of Chandigarh as well as for the Chandigarh Housing Board.
The High Court appointed him on the Senior Panel for the High Court itself.
Currently running his 10th year as the Editor of the Indian Law Reporter - Punjab Haryana High Court heading a team of 17 reporters, He also serves on the Academic Council for Rajiv Gandhi National University Patiala as well as the Chandigarh Judicial Academy, he is also on the Advisory Board of Manav Rachna University (Law) Faridabad. He has been on the Board of Governors of the Lawrence School Sanawar and Chairman of its Estate and Legal Committee. He served as the 1st Chairman of the Advocates Welfare Fund Committee and remained the Secretary of the Senior Advocates Association twice, is a member of the Supreme Court Bar as well as the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association
His areas of specialisation is in contracts, laws relating to urban development which include rent, electricity and property matters. Large scale projects under Mega Projects for Punjab and Licensed colonisation in Haryana. Personal property disputes including matrimonial matters at the High Court level.
In the course of his career, he has been privileged to lead a large panel of lawyers for various organisation’s apart from being a mentor to many young advocates. His experience is rich in the field of constitutional law, Contracts, Urban Housing, Licences, Matrimonial law and other fields encompassing litigation, Arbitration, including International Commercial Arbitration and taking on advisory roles for several corporates.
Arbitration has emerged and established itself as an alternate dispute resolution mechanism and the ADR centre at Chandigarh is economical, efficient and decisions are taken within a short time-span saving both time and money.
